HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!!I am resolving to maintain a blog for 1 year that helps to establish and promote…me! Before I can make this habitual, I have to start…so let’s start with a bio. My name is Laura Tidwell. I was born to John Richard Trevett III, and Miriam Eve Trevett in Naples Florida, on November 20th, 1981. At the age 7, my mother met my future step dad( my hero) and got remarried to him. His name is Dr. Tidwell. I took his last name when I was 11 or 12 years old. I have two biological sisters, and a step sister and two step brothers. We are all family, though. Of the six children ( adult children), I am the third oldest.I legally have both fathers’ last names. I am 27 years old, and I live in the southern United States.
Due to a life threatening illness ( a brain tumor) I started to journal at the age six. My doctor suggested I journal my seizures (I had 60-90 a day without medicine, and approximately 30 with medicine). After my third drowning experience, I had a risky brain surgery. I was 9 years old, soon to turn 10. On September sixth, of 2007, I celebrated my second Sweet 16.It was sixteen years since I had my brain surgery. As you probably understand, my brain surgery was a life changing experience, because I have not had another seizure since. In honor of my survival, I have made that day my re-birth birthday. Doctors predicted I would be paralyzed, deaf , mute, blind, or dead after the operation. I am none of the above. Though there are lingering affects, they are mild in comparison to those predictions.
Not only am I not brain damaged, but I am a senior at Columbus State University, with a technical certificate in medical coding from Columbus Technical college. I am still working on my official certification, but completed the program making me eligible for employment in the field.
I have recently begun my third try at modeling, and have had a few small successes in the last week. I have been having photos made professionally for a year. A week ago, I started posting them on Modelmayhem.com. I have already started getting offers to do photo shoots, and I am pretty proud of that.
I have traveled abroad quite extensively, and plan to continue to travel all through my life time. I have been to Canada, Mexico, Jamaica, Bahamas, Chile, Puerto Rico, England, Scotland, Ireland, France, Italy, Belgium, Germany, Netherlands, and Japan, and of course around the mainland and Hawaii.
I have changed my mind 100 times at least about my career path. My goal is to make a difference in this world. I want to inspire, change and give back.
Currently I have an exciting idea for a series of autobiographical books, and I am hoping this blog will encourage me to follow through with it. SO! Bloggers worldwide, I want to make this resolution loud and clear, I resolve to blog on this site for 1 year! I hope you enjoy!
